Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness (PWR)

In 2009, the State Board of Education and Colorado Commission of Higher Education adopted a description of “Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness” (PWR).

Description

“Colorado high school graduates demonstrate the knowledge and skills (competencies) needed to succeed in postsecondary settings and to advance in career pathways as lifelong learners and contributing citizens.”

— adopted by the Colorado State Board of Education and Colorado Commission on Higher Education (Winter 2016).

Individual Career and Academic Planning (ICAPs)

logoAn individualized career and academic plan is both a document and a process that students use – with support from school counselors, teachers, and parents – to define their career goals and post-secondary plans in order to inform the student’s decisions about their courses and activities throughout school.

Repository for Adult ICAP

The repository offers ICAP resources and tools for student services practitioners supporting traditional and non-traditional students in their transition into and completion of community college programs.
