May 24, 2016 – Aurora, CO – Today, Vista PEAK Preparatory’s Business Education program of study in Aurora, CO was awarded the prestigious Excellence in Action award, which recognizes innovative and impactful Career Technical Education (CTE) programs of study across the nation. Vista PEAK Preparatory was one of the programs selected as an “Excellence in Action” award winner, based on its uniquely innovative and effective approach to offering rigorous coursework, authentic and meaningful work-based learning experiences, and supported transitions from secondary to postsecondary education and on to successful careers.

Vista PEAK Preparatory received the award in the Business & Administration Career Cluster from Advance CTE as a result of their commitment to providing authentic work-based learning opportunities with leading companies such as Noodles & Company and dedication to providing students with a combination of business expertise, employability skills and academic rigor preparing students with the skills they need for success. Vista PEAK Preparatory instructor, Michael Dougherty accepted the honor at an award luncheon and reception as part of the Advance CTE Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C.
